• “purple haze” has been used to refer to LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide - Semisynthetic psychedelic drug. Psychological effects, which include visuals of colored patterns behind the eyes in the mind, a sense of time distorting, and crawling geometric patterns)
• common misheard lyric in the song is “’scuse me while I kiss this guy”. The actual line is “’scuse me while I kiss the sky” -hahaha
• Jimi was left handed, and he would restring right handed guitars instead of playing left handed ones.
